Marc Dardenne, the Chief Operating Officer of Jumeirah Group, has been named as Interim CEO following the resignation of Stefan Leser.
Mr. Marc Dardenne joined Jumeirah as Group Chief Operating Officer in September 2016.
He was appointed as Interim CEO in May 2017 replacing former CEO Mr. Stefan Leser, who has quietly left Jumeirah Group little more than a year after he joined.
Mr. Dardenne (biography) has a long and established career as a hotelier, having worked internationally for more than 30 years and his experience makes a distinct contribution to the Group’s senior management team as it continues to drive Jumeirah’s evolution as a leading hospitality brand.
Since joining Jumeirah, Mr. Dardenne’s emphasis has been on driving operating quality and ensuring that the highest standards are applied throughout the portfolio.
He has embarked on a number of initiatives to drive performance with a focus on delivering innovative, world class operating practices.
His expertise also supports the Group to achieve its growth ambitions. He played an instrumental role in the successful opening of Jumeirah Al Naseem in Dubai and he leads the pre-opening team, which is currently preparing for the opening of Jumeirah hotels in a number of key markets, including China, Jordan, Abu Dhabi and Bali.
During his career, Mr. Dardenne has contributed to the development of a number of brands and curated guest experience across a range of diverse hospitality assets including hotels, branded residences, serviced apartments, resorts and clubs and has unique insight, global expertise and a passion for hospitality.
A Belgium national, Mr. Dardenne has lived and worked in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East and is fluent in French, English and German.
