Omar Dusuki, Founder
Omar is the founder of Dhow Net. He has more than three decades of experience gained through senior positions in media and corporate communication with multinational companies and government organizations.
Prior to launching Dhow Net in 2015, Omar served in various capacities at government-related entities in Dubai. He was the Head of Media Research and Monitoring at the Government of Dubai Media Office, Head of Research at the Brand Dubai unit of The Executive Office, and Director of Strategic Planning at one of the subsidiaries of Dubai Holding.
Omar’s advertising and PR experience includes stints at Asda’a Burson-Marsteller, one of the largest PR agencies in the region, where he was the Head of Business Development, and at Publi-Graphics, a major regional advertising group, now part of Publicis Groupe, where he was in charge of media planning and buying.
In the media field, Omar’s career highlight was at The Walt Disney Company where he was in charge of licensed publishing in 14 Arabic-speaking countries and oversaw the launch of five magazines and more than 200 books. Prior to that, he was the Marketing Manager at Saudi Research and Publishing Company, one of the largest publishers in the region, and Managing Editor of Saudi Computerworld, the region’s first computer magazine published by International Data Group.
Omar studied at French schools and at the Lebanese American University. He lived and worked in Beirut, Cairo, Dubai, Jeddah, London, and Toronto.
