Founded in 1993 and re-launched in 1997, Qatar Airways is the national flag carrier of Qatar. The company is one of the Gulf's big three network airlines, operating an extensive network of regional services in Asia and the Middle East together with international services to Australia, Europe, Africa and North America. Qatar Airways joined the OneWorld global alliance in October 2013. In fiscal 2020 the airline carried 32.36 million passengers and 1.49 million tons of cargo (v. 29.48 million passengers and 1.36 million tonnes of cargo in fiscal 2019) to more than 160 destinations. The airline owns 258 aircraft (as of March 2020) made up of 205 passenger jets, 28 cargo and 25 executive jets.
