Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (Qatargas) is the largest LNG producing company in the world, with an annual LNG production capacity of 42 million tons per annum. It has seven LNG trains, of which four are the largest in the world each with a production capacity of 7.8 million tons per annum.

Qatargas operates all its existing trains and facilities, including offshore, on behalf of its shareholders in all of its assets – Qatargas 1, Qatargas 2, Qatargas 3 and Qatargas 4. The Qatargas offshore operations are located approximately 80 kilometers northeast of Qatar’s mainland.

Qatargas’ onshore operations occupy a site within Ras Laffan industrial City on a plot of land 3.9 square kilometers in area. Qatargas 1 shareholders are: Qatar Petroleum 65%, ExxonMobil 10%, Total 10%, Mitsui 7.5%, Marubeni 7.5%.

Qatargas 2 (Train 4) shareholders are: Qatar Petroleum 70%, ExxonMobil 30%.

Qatargas 2 (Train 5) shareholders are: Qatar Petroleum 65%, ExxonMobil 18.3%, Total 16.7%.

Qatargas 3 shareholders are: Qatar Petroleum 68.5%, ConocoPhillips 30%, Mitsui & Co. Ltd 1.5%.

Qatargas 4 shareholders are: Qatar Petroleum 70%, Royal Dutch Shell 30%.

Shareholders of the Laffan Refinery are: Qatar Petroleum 51%, ExxonMobil 10%, Total 10%, Idemitsu 10%, Cosmo 10%, Mitsui 4.5%, Marubeni 4.5%.

Shareholders of the Laffan Refinery 2 are: Qatar Petroleum 84%, Total 10%, Idemitsu 2%, Cosmo 2%, Mitsui 1%, Marubeni 1%.

Qatargas 1 has a fleet of 10 purpose-built vessels, each with a capacity of 135,000 cubic meters (4.8 million cubic feet) currently in operation for the transportation of LNG from Qatargas to its Japanese buyers.
