New female CEOs at three Dubai hospitals

New chief executives officers of four government hospitals were approved yesterday in a move seen by analysts as bolstering Dubai’s fast-growing health care sector.

The CEOs will take charge of Dubai’s public hospitals that have a combined capacity of 2,172 beds and are the region’s premier medical facilities that offer emergency and trauma care to cancer, heart disease treatment to maternity care. They are Dr Abdulrahman Mohammad Saleh Al Jassmi, CEO of Dubai Hospital; Dr Alya Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO of Rashid Hospital; Dr Moza Ajaif Al Zaabi, CEO of Al Jalila Children’s Speciality Hospital and Dr Muna AbdulRazzaq Tahlak, CEO of Latifa Hospital.

Dr Al Jassmi (CEO, Dubai Hospital) was earlier the consultant and head of paediatrics hematology and oncology at Dubai Hospital since 2004. He joined DHA in 1989 and later in 1998 completed specialisation in paediatric hematology and oncology at the University of Dusseldorf, Germany.
Dr Alya (CEO, Rashid Hospital) earlier was a consultant surgeon at Rashid Hospital. She completed her graduation in surgery and medicine and pursued her post-graduation in visceral surgery and pancreatic islets transplantation from the University Hospital in Geneva, Switzerland.
Dr Moza (CEO, Al Jalila Children’s Speciality Hospital), was a paediatric consultant in Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah. She has obtained her post graduation specialisation in paediatrics from the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health, UK and she holds a Master’s degree in health care management. In 2011, Zaabi completed her graduation from the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Leadership Programme. She is one of the members of the vision 2021 for health.
Dr Muna (CEO, Latifa Hospital), earlier joined the Hospital in 2006 as a consultant gynaecologist. In 2010 she was appointed as the head of obstetrics and gynaecology. She studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and then later completed her post-graduation at John Hopkins Hospital, US.
