UAE appoints Hamad Al Mansouri as TRA Director General

Al Mansouri replaces Mohammed Nasser Al Ghanim, who will continue to act as a consultant to the TRA’s board of directors.

UAE appoints Hamad Al Mansouri as Director General of TRAThe UAE has issued a presidential decree appointing Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri as the new director general of the country’s telecom watchdog Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).

Al Mansouri has been the Director General of the UAE mGovernment since April 2014 and as the Deputy Director General of Information and e-Government from May 2013 to April 2014. He holds a Master’s degree in Multimedia (Computer Science) from Middlesex University, UK.

Al Mansouri has also held various positions, some of which he still resumes now, including his role as a technical consultant in many government entities and institutions. He has also played an important role in the Integration process between the different electronic systems and empowered many of the UAE’s national talents, by providing them with the appropriate opportunity to work in the ICT field.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Qamzi, Chairman of TRA, praised the great role played by Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, former TRA Director General, in developing not only the TRA but also the overall UAE ICT sector and noted the importance of the continued presence of Al Ghanim as a consultant to the Board of Directors.
