Muhammad Al-Asheikh appointed acting Saudi health minister

King Salman issued a royal order relieving Ahmed Al-Khatib from his post as minister of health and appointing Minister of State Muhammad Al-Asheikh as acting health minister.

Key appointments for the weekending April 12 2015Al-Asheikh was born in Taif in 1969 and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Shariah law. He began his career at the World Bank in 1998. He worked at a legal office in New York in 2001 and returned to the Kingdom in 2003 and worked as a legal consultant until 2012.

In 2012, he was appointed as the Kingdom’s representative at the World Bank in Washington DC and head of the Capital Market Authority.

Other appointments the past week included Richard Groves, an HSBC veteran since 1981, who has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Ahli United Bank in Kuwait.

Weqaya Takaful Insurance and Reinsurance Company has dissolved its board of directors and elected a new board headed by Khaled Fadhl Al Aswad as Chairman and Hussain Ali Al Attal as Managing Director.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced the appointment of Othman Aleghfeli, a UAE national, as Area Manager Gulf Cooperation Council from his current position as Assistant General Manager for the airline’s Abu Dhabi Hub.
