Ex-Aramco health chief Al Dowaile to help with MERS fight

King Salman of Saudi Arabia has appointed Hamad Mohamed Al Dowaile, a 29-year veteran of Saudi Aramco, as Deputy Minister of Health for Health Affairs.

Just last May, Al Dowaile (biography) was designated as the CEO of King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah, as part of the Ministry of Health‘s efforts to accelerate the operation of the complex, deemed to be one of the main centers for controlling the spread of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Corona Virus (MERS-CoV).

Mr. Al Dowaile worked as the Director General of Health Services at Saudi Aramco for 29 years starting in 1981. He also served as the Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Saudi Food Bank.

He obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from King Saud University in 1979, and an MBA in Hospital Management from University of Arizona in 1988.
