International Bank of Qatar has announced the appointment of Mr. Omar Bouhadiba as Managing Director.
Mr. Omar Bouhadiba has over 35 years of banking experience and an extensive knowledge of Middle Eastern markets. His latest assignment was Global Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking at Arab Bank, responsible for corporate banking operations in a broad variety of countries.
Prior to joining Arab Bank, Mr. Bouhadiba was head of the International Banking Group of National Bank of Kuwait, and held senior corporate positions at Mashreq bank in Dubai, and Bank of America London, Paris, Bahrain and Athens.
The Board of Directors of IBQ expressed great pleasure in announcing Omar Bouhadiba’s appointment, stating that “his experience and proven leadership skills should put the bank on a path to quality sustainable growth, and stretch the bank’s ambitions to new heights. We believe that he is the right person to build on IBQ’s achievements to date, and take the bank to the next level in line with our vision and aspirations.”
Commenting on his appointment, Omar Bouhadiba said, “I am excited to take up this role. I look forward to working with my colleagues and associates to develop a growth strategy that will allow us to better serve our valued clients, and play an even bigger role in the Qatari economy.
Omar Bouhadiba received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania in 1978. He also attended La Sorbonne in Paris, and the University of Economics in Tunis.
