Construction firm Drake & Scull International has promoted Group COO Wael Allan to the position of chief executive, replacing Khaldoun Tabari.
Mr. Wael Allan (biography) will take on his new role starting today, according to a statement by Drake & Scull International (DSI), a Dubai-listed company.
Mr. Allan replaces Mr. Khaldoun Tabari, a major shareholder in the company, who will continue to serve as Vice Chairman.
DSI said Mr. Tabari submitted his resignation last August.
Mr. Wael Allan has been the Chief Operating Officer at DSI since May 2016. He is an industry veteran with more than 26 years of global management experience spanning EPC and construction across USA, Europe, Far East and the Middle East.
He served as CEO of the Middle East Region at ARCADIS from February 2015 to January 2016. He also served in senior management roles for firms like Skanska USA Buildings, Washington Group International, Raytheon Engineers and Contractors, and Hyder Consulting.
Mr. Allan obtained a masters degree in Biochemical Engineering from University of Wales, Swansea, in 1989.
