Amit Kaushal named as CEO of Dubai Holding

Dubai Holding has appointed former Goldman Sachs banker Amit Kaushal as chief executive officer, replacing Edris Alrafi who left the investment firm after less than a year.

Amit Kaushal appointed as CEO of Dubai HoldingMr. Amit Kaushal was previously chief financial officer at Dubai Holding. He was also senior vice president of funding and treasury management at real estate developer Meraas Holding, and, before that had worked for Goldman Sachs Group, UBS Group and Deutsche Bank in London and Dubai.

Mr. Kaushal (biography) is a British national, schooled and raised in Kenya before attending university in the UK.

He holds a Masters of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge and a B.Sc. (First Class Hons) in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick.

Mr. Edris Alrafi was previously chief commercial officer at Meraas and joined Dubai Holding — whose investments include Dubai Properties Group, TECOM Group and Jumeirah Group — in April 2017. No reason was given for the departure.

In a related development, Dubai Properties Group has appointed Mr. Raed Al Nuaimi as Group CEO after the departure of Mr. Abdulla Lahej.

Mr. Al Nuaimi was previously CEO of North25, a group managing projects across Dubai Holding and Meraas Holding. Prior to that, he was CEO of DXB Entertainments.

Mr. Lahej joined Dubai Properties Group in July 2016 after a stint as CEO of Emaar Properties.
