Microsoft has announced the appointment of former Oracle executive Thamer Alharbi as President of Microsoft Arabia in Saudi Arabia.
In his new role, Mr. Thamer Alharbi will spearhead Microsoft’s efforts in accelerating digital transformation and innovation across industries, leveraging his over fifteen years of professional experience and industry knowledge in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
His areas of expertise cover business transformation, consultancy, and information technology services.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Alharbi was Vice President, Saudi Arabia and Upper Gulf, at Oracle Corporation since 2014 and Country Managing Director for Saudi Arabia.
He joined Oracle from Temenos, where he was Regional Manager for the Middle East from 2007 until 2013.
Previous to that, Mr. Alharbi was the FSI Sales Director of Middle East in Accenture, where he has led strategic consultancy programs in the region and also was the T24 and Odyssey lead for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Mr. Alharbi holds a Bachelor of Systems Engineering degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and studied in Stephen M. Ross Business School of the University of Michigan and IESE Business School.

Microsoft Arabia opened its Saudi-based headquarters in 1998. Today, Microsoft Arabia oversees Microsoft activities in Saudi Arabia and has offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
