Emirates Water and Electricity Company (formerly Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Company - ADWEC, founded in November 1998) is the single buyer and seller of electricity and water within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It procures water and electricity from the power and water producers on the basis of long term power and water purchase agreements and sells it through bulk supply tariffs sales agreement with the distribution companies.
