Summary

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) was established in 1992 to take over and merge the Dubai Electricity Company and the Dubai Water Department that had been operating independently for several years until then. Both organizations were established in 1959. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's installed capacity is 15,700 megawatts and 495 million imperial gallons per day of desalinated water. DEWA is the exclusive provider of electricity and potable water in Dubai and caters for 1.21 million customers. The company floated 18% of its capital on the Dubai Financial Market in March 2022.
