Launched with two leased aircraft from a simple airport, Emirates airline's phenomenal growth is reflected in an expanding fleet of 270 passenger aircraft – a mix of the latest Airbus and Boeing airplanes – as well as Dubai's state-of-the-art Emirates Terminal-3, which is used solely for the airline's flights. The main activities of Emirates comprise: commercial air transportation which includes passenger and cargo services; wholesale and retail of consumer goods; hotel operations; in-flight catering; and food and beverage sales. In FY 2019-2020, Emirates carried more than 56.16 million passengers and reached 157 destinations in 83 countries.
