Sakaka Solar Energy Company
Sakaka Solar Energy Company owns the 300-megawatt Sakaka photovoltaic independent power plant, which was built with an investment of SAR 1.2 billion (USD 319 million). The plant covers an area of six square kilometers in Sakaka, in Al Jouf Region of Saudi Arabia, and is the first of a series of projects under the Saudi national renewable energy program, which aims to produce 9.5 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2023. The operator of the plant is Diaa Sakaka Operation and Maintenance Company, a NOMAC affiliate. Saudi Power Procurement Company is the offtaker under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
