Qatargas Operating Company (incorporating the operations of Qatar Liquefied Gas Company and RasGas Company) is the largest LNG producing company in the world, with an annual LNG production capacity of 77 million tons per annum. Qatargas Operating Company operates 14 LNG trains, six of which are mega trains, each with a production capacity of 7.8 million tons per annum. The company operates the trains on behalf of Qatar Petroleum and their international joint venture partners. In addition, Qatargas Operating Company runs two domestic sales gas production facilities, two condensate refineries, two helium production facilities, a jetty boil-off recovery facility, the Ras Laffan Terminal Operations, and major shipping and global sales contracts. Qatargas Operating Company has a fleet of 25 purpose-built conventional vessels, each with a capacity of between 135,000 and 152,000 cubic meters. The company also has a fleet of 31 Q-Flex and 14 Q-Max on long-term charter, capable of transporting 210,000 cubic meters and 266,000 cubic meters of LNG respectively.

RasGas Company, which was merged in Qatargas Operating Company in terms of operation, was the world's second-biggest LNG producer. It oversaw and managed all the operations associated with seven of the 14 LNG trains, the two sales gas production facilities, the two helium production facilities, and the major shipping contracts and global commercial partnerships. RasGas Company also operated two trains on behalf of Al Khaleej Gas for domestic gas requirements. RasGas Company’s total production capacity was approximately 37 million tons per annum.
