Summary

Hajr Electricity Production Company was formed as part of Saudi Arabia's plan to build six independent power projects to add 20,000 megawatts to the domestic grid by 2018. Their plant is the largest IPP at 4,000 megawatts. The combined cycle gas-fired plant is located in Qurayyah, about 100 kilometers south of Dammam, and its output is sold to the Saudi Electricity Company under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
